Purboxx
The Johannesburg based, trash-pop duo known as PURBOXX, consisting of Anika Reinecke (of Half-Sister) and Joshua Rogers (formerly of Raygun Royale), began in January 2020. It all started off as a late-night jam session and quickly evolved in to something way bigger than either of them could have imagined. The soft, melancholic, yet extremely playful melodies of Anika’s vocal delivery layered with the hard-hitting, gritty style of Josh’s writing, come together to form a genre which borrows elements from many others. It becomes somewhat of a kaleidoscope of musical madness.
